Surplus is designed for compatibility with modern glass railing systems made from laminated or tempered safety glass of 20mm and thicker following the EN1991 (EU) and BS6180 (UK) standards.
The platform can be mounted on glass railings with and without a rectangular top profile with a maximum width of 40mm. The distance between front side glass and profile cannot be more than 10mm.

The current design is not suitable for balcony railings with round trims or handrails.
No. Surplus installs without drilling into the railing or balcony structure. It is fully reversible and does not cause permanent damage when installed correctly.
The rubber-padded hooks simply slide over the railing and adjustable suction cups fixes the platform in place.
